Kali Statue, goddess kali is worshipped as the Goddess of destruction, a fearful manifestation of Parvati, an incarnation of the Devi or Mother Goddess. In Hindu mythology, the Gods were troubled by the fearsome demon Raktabija. Fighting with the demon Raktabija was an impossible feat because every drop of his blood that fell to the ground, gave rise to another demon. The Gods went to Shiva – the god of destruction in the Hindu trinity - for help. Shiva was deep in meditation but his consort Parvati decided to act and in the ferocious form of Kali set out to kill the demon.
