Harijan:
As Brahmins took to 'Tantra' and Kayasthas reined the line painting, the Harijan community innovated a new style too. They ventured into the style that already existed but not on paper. It was the tattoo style Madhubani locally called 'Godna' painting.

Chano Devi and Rodi Paswan:
Chano Devi and Rodi Paswan is the couple that started the 'godna' painting. It is said that Ganga Devi a well-known artist of the region helped them develop this style. They are the inhabitants of Jitwarpur. Financially very weak, the main source of income for all these artists is the money they earn by painting.

Urmila Devi and Shravan Kumar Paswan:
This mother and son team is one of the most innovative godna artists. Shravan paints in his own individual style, which sometimes resembles a Gond painting.

Bilat Paswan:
Along with his wife, this middle aged godna artist makes his living only through painting. An inhabitant of Jitwarpur, he lives in a poorly built mud hut.
